When two friends connect, it can be a magical experience. Big Sisters are people just like you who want to enrich the life of a young girl. Whether it is playing sports, learning a craft together or simply just talking, being a Big Sister is a gratifying experience. Big Sisters are a positive influence to a little sister simply by enjoying quality time with a great friend. Girls from ages 6-12 are hoping to find a friend like you to spend a few hours with - each week or every couple of weeks, its up to you. By becoming a Big Sister you can share a little magic with a little girl. And you will both be forever changed by the experience.

Activities need not be costly, in fact we encourage them to be low or no cost activities. Big & Little Sisters are encouraged to concentrate on their friendship instead! From time to time their may be costs associated with an activity- going to a movie or watching a professional sport, however that is not the norm. Where possible, Big Sisters are granted discounts to assist with these outings. Big Sisters and Little Sisters can also spend their time going for walks, bike riding, scrapbooking, baking or heading to the park...the options are endless.

Big Sisters come in all shapes, sizes and ages, (although you must be 18 yars of age or older to be a Big Sister) you do not have to be "artsy" to be a Big Sister. Efforts are made to match Big and Little Sisters together that have some similar, compatible interests. Like any friendship though, half the fun is learning new interests from one another.

It is easy to get involved! Here is what we ask:

That you commit to oe one to for hours a week for at least a year. This time will be spent with your Little Sister sharing the magic of friendship!

That you agree to participate in a screening process that will include an application, interview, reference checks and a training session. It is also required that a police check be completed on both the applicant and anybody in the home over 18.

That you are willing to have fun adn share the magic of friendship.
